Our goal is to provide every musician with the opportunity to build a sustainable career in music through song sales, while creating an online community for anybody that believes in our philosophy.

In early 2006, Michael Davis approached me about making a website for Phila Funk Records, a small independent label he started in Southwest Philadelphia in 2002. Sparks flew in our first brainstorming session as we discussed everything from the way major record labels were screwing musicians to the new realm of opportunities made possible by digital music and the internet. That day we decided that WeMusicStore.com would be no ordinary website for an independent label--our plan became to create something entirely new. A few months later (although perhaps these months are better counted in hours on the Ruby console), WeMusicStore.com was born.
