| About | If there is one word to describe the work of Serge Laporte best, it would have to be versatility. Equally at ease in the rock, pop, ethnic, orchestral or R and B musical genres, with a firm grasp and understanding of roots music, his specialty is a key in hand approach to projects, that is, master tapes tailor-made for an artist or a production company.
Benefiting from a great deal of hands-on experience in songwriting (Marie Carmen, Marie-Denise Pelletier, Plastic Bertrand and recently 18 year old prodigy Cindy Daniel for Tox records (she was one of the four stars in the hit musical comedy “Don Juan”)...), music for jingles (La Capitale, Bell Express Vue, Labatt, Canadian Tire,,,,) TV scoring (L’amour avec un Grand A, Zenon le petit cochon, L'heure de gloire) arranger and record producer (Léandre, Philosonic...) and session guitar player (Dan Bigras, Charlebois, Laurence Jalbert...), Serge Laporte has developed a unique and global approach to getting things done, efficiently and creatively from A to Z. He has earned four SOCAN trophies for songwriting and three ADISQ nominations (equivalent to Junos or Grammys) for his record producing skills. |
